iPhone 4 Antenna Ad Spoof

I have no intention of adding to the insane levels of noise surrounding the antenna “issue” of the iPhone 4. My take? It is an issue, but not one that the vast majority of users will even notice. In addition, let’s be honest, when was the last time you bought a mobile phone as expensive as the iPhone and did not use a case to protect it? So, if you were gonna use a case anyway, take Apple’s offer of a free bumper, enjoy the world’s thinnest smartphone with the world’s highest resolution display on a mobile phone, along with the world’s most intuitive mobile platform, and run.

Having said that, the fact that such a problem exists on a phone this expensive is a little bothersome. Apple has acknowledged that and offered free bumpers as well as a complete refund to dissatisfied customers. So if you are one of the “Yea, the iPhone 4 is great, too bad it doesn’t make phone calls” kind of people, then stop complaining and return the phone.

That is all I am going to say on the topic and I think the whole thing is so blown out of proportion, it is ridiculous. Having said that, Steve Jobs’ “Antennagate presentation” was even more ridiculous. It is amazing to me that no one else is talking about this, but when watching the video of his speech, it was so blatant to me that he knew he was in trouble, and was trying to hypnotize the crowd to believe the antenna issue is a non issue. How many times did he repeat “smartphones are not perfect”? How many times did he have to say “We love our customers”? While Steve Jobs is usually the master of keynotes, this specific one was embarrassing and amateur in my humble opinion.

And so I bring you a great spoof on that speech, which calls out some of the absurdities we witnessed come out of Jobs’ mouth. So sit back, watch, and enjoy. Oh, and for heaven’s sake, move on and stop talking about this, enough is enough!
