Apple seems to have done it again, opened up a new market. Yes, there have been tablets in the past, but do you know anyone who has one? I don’t!
Upon the release of the iPad and the millions sold, seems everyone wants a piece of the action and I can’t blame them. LG says their tablet will be better than the iPad, but somehow I doubt that. The only tablet I would take seriously in a brawl against the Apple debut into the tablet market is one with Google (or their partner in crime, HTC) branding on it.
Then again, let’s not forget that the LG Optimus (what is this? Transformers meets tablets?) will run Android, but still, I don’t associate LG with stellar hardware. HTC on the other hand…
Well, according to this CNN post, we should expect a whole bunch of Android tablets in the very near future… In fact, you can see one in action in the video below. Looks pretty awesome to me…
What do you think of the tablet space? Can Google compete? Please let me know in the comments below or on Twitter here.
interesting. As for competitiveness, well, it all depends on the openess of the OS (which google has demonstrated) and if it’s consumer-centric and full of innovation. Is it going to provide a worthwhile, stable, alternative or not? That’s what it boils down to.
