Above the Fuld (August 7th-28th)

Been a few weeks since I posted one of these due to a vacation. All I can say is, what a month to choose for a vacation. This month will definitely go down in the books as one of, if not the, craziest months in tech ever. Where do we start? I think I summed it up pretty well in this tweet from last week. Everyone who is anyone in tech had something to announce this month. Google, Facebook, HP, Motorola, Apple, Amazon, and Linkedin are just some of the companies that made some noise over the past month.

Why 9/10 People Would Prefer the BlackBerry Playbook over the iPad

Let me start off by saying that i have been testing the BlackBerry Playbook for over a month now, gathering my thoughts, jotting down some points, and waiting till all my impressions were gathered and formulated. No, I was not waiting for Steve Jobs to resign to write my review of the Playbook and include such a blatantly anti-Apple title as you see above. The truth is I do not doubt the superiority of the iPad as a tablet computer or its affect on the dominance the Apple tablet now displays in this new tablet market. I do not believe the Playbook will ever outsell the iPad or even come close to it.

The Next 88 People to Follow on Twitter

One year ago, almost to the day, I wrote The First 99 People to Follow on Twitter. Now, with over 2,300 retweets of that post that I continue to see even today, I figured it was time for a sequel. Unlike the movie industry, in which sequels usually suck, this is a list of people I have met, engaged with, learned from, and was inspired by over the past year.

Above the Fuld: This Week’s Tech in 30 Seconds (Aug 1st- 7th)

It is that time of the week again. If you did not see last week’s post, you can read about it here to understand what this weekly posts are about. This week there was some super interesting news in the tech space such a new iPhone Twitter app that puts all others to shame. Speaking of Shame, Amazon, assuming this story is true about the company’s appstore, should be ashamed of themselves. You can read all about it below and more.

Twitter: To Follow Back or not To Follow Back? How to Decide!

Ever since the beginning of time, (or at least the beginning of Twitter, but who remembers a world before Twitter anyway?), the big question that has occupied Twitter users around the globe is, how to decide who to follow on Twitter. There used to be a pretty solid way to find new people, but then Twitter canned it. There are of course countless directories online for the Twitter community, but I have never found any of them to be too interesting or relevant.

Above the Fuld: This Week’s Tech in 30 Seconds

I recently had a thought. While I spend most of my week writing articles about tech, social media, and mobile advertising, only a minority of my social graph sees all the posts. I tweet and share the posts but if you are not on Twitter, FB, or Google+ when I share it, chances are you will miss the article. I have been trying to figure out a way to ensure that my content does not disappear into the black hole, otherwise known as the internet, and have yet to come up with the perfect solution.

Why You WILL End up Using Google+

I guess it was inevitable that I was going to write a post about the new hot social network by the search giant, Google+. You already saw the guest post about why Google+ is great from a non-geeky perspective, but here is why I love it and believe you will end up there, whether you like it or not.

Why I love Google+ from a Non-Techie, Slightly Rage-Inclined, Working Woman (Guest Post)

This is a guest post by my good friend Shoshanna Jaskoll who works primarily in the non profit sector and has been very active on social media over the past few years. You can visit her site here. The reason I wanted to post this is because Google+ has won me over in the past week and I thought it was an important topic to cover. However, so much has been said already and I wanted a unique angle on the new social network from Google. Shoshana provided that angle in the below post. Hope you enjoy.

A List of Interviews with Superstars Made Possible by Twitter

As you might have noticed, I have been posting interviews lately with some of the shakers of the Web and tech industries. This is something I started doing a while back and chances are, even if you are a dedicated Technmarketing reader, you missed some of my interviews. Many people have asked me for an organized and updated list of everyone I interviewed, so here it is. I will be updating the list as I interview more people.
