One of the big challenges of the average Twitter user is the ongoing questions from friends and relatives. “Why is it so popular”? “What’s the point”? “It sounds so lame, why do you waste your time”? I have tried countless times to explain on and off the blog what the big attraction is, and generally without success.

So I figured I would share with you a video of the CEO and co-founder of Twitter, Evan Williams, explaining his take on its success. He does say in the video that the rapid growth and success of Twitter is a surprise to even him, but he then goes on to explain how the whole thing works.
