An Interview with Tomer Sharon, Senior User Experience Researcher at Google about UX, Mobile, and Life at Google

A few weeks ago, I was fortunate enough to visit an old friend at Google, NY. Now why is that interesting? Because I call Tomer “An old friend” despite the fact that I had never met him. “Wow, you have a strange definition of friend” is probably what you’re thinking. Could very well be, but if you think about the nature of friendship, you will quickly realize that a friend is someone you learn from, someone you share experiences with, and someone you respect and, well, like. Such is Tomer.

Why You WILL End up Using Google+

I guess it was inevitable that I was going to write a post about the new hot social network by the search giant, Google+. You already saw the guest post about why Google+ is great from a non-geeky perspective, but here is why I love it and believe you will end up there, whether you like it or not.

Why I love Google+ from a Non-Techie, Slightly Rage-Inclined, Working Woman (Guest Post)

This is a guest post by my good friend Shoshanna Jaskoll who works primarily in the non profit sector and has been very active on social media over the past few years. You can visit her site here. The reason I wanted to post this is because Google+ has won me over in the past week and I thought it was an important topic to cover. However, so much has been said already and I wanted a unique angle on the new social network from Google. Shoshana provided that angle in the below post. Hope you enjoy.

Nokia’s Flagship N900 Is Everything The iPhone Is Not

A few days ago I was fortunate enough to receive a nice surprise from Nokia, their flagship Maemo mobile device, the Nokia N900. To be honest, I had lowered my expectations for the device as a result of a friend’s opinion, who told me I was not going to like the phone. Before I get into details about the phone with all its shortcomings and industry-leading features and specifications, let me just state in one sentence that overall I am extremely pleased with the device and pleasantly surprised by its endless capabilities.

How Chrome OS Changes Everything

There have been so many developments in the tech world lately, it was literally difficult for me to choose one to write about. However, at the end of the day, all the new mobile phones announced over the last month, or the new Twitter features released to the tweeting community, are not going to change the future of how we use our computers, Google’s announcements will.

Five Features Missing from Droid’s GPS

The tech world has been non stop talking about Motorola’s new Droid device. There is no doubt it is an exciting new development in the smartphone arena, and it will definitely raise the bar for the future of the mobile space. If I had to choose one feature of the Droid that is making the most amount of noise, it would have to be Google’s new turn by turn GPS app available for Android 2.0 devices.

Five Reasons Droid Will Not Kill the iPhone

Seems like every month or two another iPhone killer is released. First it was the BlackBerry Storm, which turned out to be such a bad device, the only thing it ended up killing was itself. Then there was the Palm Pre, which did not even threaten the iPhone’s thrown in the least bit. There are of course many other devices along the way that caused people to throw out the overly used and ridiculous “iPhone Killer” title.

Samsung Galaxy and Android Go Social- Part III: The Final Verdict

If you have not been paying attention, I am taking part in a Samsung Galaxy Mccann Digital campaign, in which 5 bloggers review a total of 100 Android apps in 4 days. This is the last of my reviews. However, before I get into the apps, I want to thank Nir Refuah from Mccann Digital for this campaign and Yael Goren, who was the person corresponding with us throughout the campaign. Both displayed high professionalism, and it was a privilege to work with them on this, and I hope to have the chance to work with them again in the future (I will even do it without a free phone next time, that’s how much I like you guys :))
